 Climbing Kala Patthar at 4.30am

Waiting, hoping we might get a glimpse of Everest (to far left side)

Mt. Pumori (7165m) from the top of Kala Patthar (5550m)

Looking south at Ama Dablam (6814m)

Sunrise between Tibetan Mountain 'Chang Tse', N-W Col. (shoulder of Everest), Everest & Nuptse

The 5550m 'hill' that is Kala Patthar in front of Mt. Pumori

Gorak Shep - the closest settlement to Everest Base Camp (~3kms away)

The windswept peak of Mt. Everest

The current site of Base Camp on the shifting Khumbu Glacier

At Base Camp with our guide Elmi

 A thawing Khumbu Glacier

The start of the Everest summit climb - across Khumbu glacier, up the Khumbu Ice-fall.
Over 200 people have died trying since the first attempt in 1922.

 Heading south again..

A small farming village before Periche

Pangboche Monastery - once home to the notorious 'Yeti scalp'

 Harvest time

The last day in the Himalaya sampling 'Chhaang' - Millet beer - potent stuff!

Time for a real beer back in Kathmandu!

Trip video to come soon..
