A Hot Lap of Ireland

Dublin City


Kilmainham Gaol - Built 1796. Held many leaders of the Irish rebellions.

Each cell held up to 5 people, the youngest prisoner was a 5 year old jailed for stealing.
Restored in 1958, more than 30 years after being decommissioned.

At some point in the 16th century the kitchen fell into the ocean & the wife of the owner refused to live there any longer!

The Giants Causeway - Thought to have former during volcanic activity ~ 50-60 million years ago. Legend is that an Irish warrior built the causeway to walk to Scotland & fight his counterpart.


The tallest column is around 12 metres





Strangford Lough

The Hill of Slane. A few kilometers from Brú na Bóinne - Neolithic chamber tombs from ~35th-32nd century BC.
